AdJourney – design with direction…
Opedix was a project spearheaded by Randy Black, CEO of Longworth Industries, Roger Maxey, Sales Manager for Polarmax, Opedix and AYG and marketing support by Brian Sykes, CCO of AdJourney. The challenge was immense! Develop a million dollar campaign with a shoe string budget with tight deadlines, product-for-retail in development and everything marketing related – created by the team at AdJourney.
Along with sales material, packaging, advertising, catalog and publicity in trade journals galore – this post is about one portion… the merchandising.
Opedix was new. It was a medical science product developed by a leading orthopaedic surgeon in Vail, Colorado – known for solving ski and sport related injury. There were 2 parts… a pant (which held your knee cap in alignment – alleviating knee pain by supporting the knee without a bulky knee braces, returning runners to the trails and skiers to moguls, pain free. The second part was a shirt that used proprioception to help you maintain better posture – increasing strength and endurance in everything from golf to kayaking. Both products were amazing… but required a story to support.
We knew we needed a display that would show both the shirt and pant in use. We also would need a video that told the Opedix story in 1 minute or less. This was before the iPad, and we were NOT going to be able to run an extension cord to a monitor. Solution – a battery pack and a push button video player affixed to a product display.
AdJourney designed all of the assets for the merchandiser. Everything from the display casing to hold the video player, sourcing the player to use, to even creating the video that ran on the player. We designed the merchandiser unit, the custom mannequin leg, the labels for the tubes and the sleeve that wrapped the product.
