AdJourney – design with direction… Luxury Upholstery is a small shop that puts out amazing work. How do you capture the essence of a brand and convey that with a custom mark and fonts? What is the magic combination of colors that will work together “just so” to tell the story you wish to tell? AdJourney submitted multiple options to arrive at the chosen design – each touching onto the elements of Luxury Upholstery and the owner Alex Sanchez…
The options that were presented – were each good in their own right… Typically in creating a presentation of designs, there is an obligatory design. Something the business owner feels MUST be seen. Such is the case of the chair. Alex does upholstery – and most such shops feel a chair is the best way to communicate that. It had to be included. The other options speak to functionality, hands on creative… Often, there is one design that is truly bold and unique. Such was the case with the VW truck. It was personal. It was intriguing and fun… it was Luxury Upholstery in a nutshell!
The one Alex felt fit him best involved a vintage VW truck (a project he is in the process of restoring.) Why the truck? It is unique and full of personality. Definitely not something you see every day. It harkens to classic appeal, utilitarian and functional design but with elegant lines that would look exceptional pulling up to the nicest homes in Pinehurst with a delivery of another fine example of quality craftsmanship (a couch, a settee, a dining room full of re-upholstered chairs….) But whatever he delivers, it will be good and it will be memorable.
The truck spoke to Alex. It was a bold move – but the right one. Having t-shirts printed with the logo on the back has blown up his phone and put months worth of work on the books. This branding exercise was the right one for Luxury Upholstery.

Branding that works on an emotional level, taps into the very essence of the personality of the product (goods, ideas and/or services) and communicates. It looks and feels “right” for the brand… it resonates. Such is the case with Alex Sanchez’s Luxury Upholstery.
